ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

From the handwritten books I made as a kid to the screenplays I wrote in college, the TV shows I produced, and the courses I build today, the medium keeps changing. The story doesn't.

Working in broadcast was a rush. You learn fast that having information isn't the same as communicating it. What does the audience need to know? What will make them pay attention? How do you turn something complicated into a story people can follow? Now do all of that on a constant deadline. That's the adrenaline of live TV, and it's still how I work.

After I hung up my headset, I spent years creating video, graphics, and other media, learning how visuals, pacing, sound, and interaction change the way people understand information. Then the pieces clicked. Instead of telling people a story, I could design one they could step into.
That changed the questions I ask.

What does someone actually need to do? Where does this fit into their work? How will they practice, and what happens when they get it wrong? And how will I know it made a difference?

Those questions took me from instructional design into learning systems. I find out what people need to do, build the learning that gets them there, and measure whether it worked. That's true whether the company is building training from scratch or fixing something that isn't landing.
Today I bring it all together: storytelling, multimedia, instructional design, and systems thinking. The goal is learning that makes hard things clearer, gives people room to practice, and connects to what happens next on the job. I've built training in financial services, fintech, telecom, and software.

Throw in a pop culture reference, an inside joke, or an animated cartoon or two. That's my secret ingredient.
Flip through the case studies to see how this plays out. If you've got a training problem, I'd like to hear about it. Contact me anytime.
